Callie and Maeme Rasberry were born in the bi-cultural city of El Paso, Texas, on the border of New Mexico and Old Mexico. Growing up on a farm, they learned to appreciate the seasonality of ingredients. Whether tending to the garden, bees or chickens, the love of fresh, local ingredients was born. The girls learned to cook family recipes from Italy, the Middle East, the East Coast, West Coast and of course Texas. During college, they both worked in restaurants, gaining front and back of the house experience. Friends enjoyed parties and the requests for catered food grew.
Rasberry's is known for their delectable made-from-scratch downright good food with a Hispanic influence. Customers rave about the menu staples like the Old El Paso seasoned to perfection, street tacos on corn tortillas made from scratch and handmade potato chips. The made-fresh daily pot pies, sandwiches served on fresh baked bread and soups add delicious variety to each visit. Salmon cakes, macaroni and cheese, quiche, white bean and fennel salad are a few examples of the ever-changing offerings. Cheesecakes, pies and cookies tempt tummies from their prominent display in the dining room.
The girls' family is deeply rooted in the Wood River Valley, as business owners and long time residents. The invitation to join them after college was all too appealing. Together, Callie and Maeme bought a small catering business housed in the basement of the 411 building in 2005. From there Rasberry's came to fruition with a lot of hard work and the dream of serving delicious food to the good people living and visiting the Wood River Valley.
